How to Make Money in Lagos Life Game: Jobs, Business, Land
You earn in Lagos Life three ways: jobs pay per shift, businesses pay per day and land grows per week. The best job with nothing to unlock is Banking: ₦58,000 for a full week at rank 1. Tax takes nothing below ₦1,000,000 a week, and Game Naira cannot be cashed out.

How do you make money in Lagos Life Game?
You earn in three ways, and each one runs on its own clock. New to the game? Read how to play first.
- A job pays per shift. Pay is a set amount for each shift you work, and a week’s pay is that amount times the shifts in the week. See jobs and salaries for every career.
- A business pays per day. You buy it once, then it settles each evening with a random profit, and some days go badly. Jump to businesses.
- Land grows per week. It pays nothing day to day, but its value compounds every week and you cash in by selling. Jump to land.
The birth lottery sets the cash you begin with, and tax takes a cut once a week’s income gets big. The most common mistake is adding a per-shift number to a per-day number and a per-week number, so convert everything to one clock before you compare it.
How much does a job pay in a week?
A job is the one income you have from day one, so start by turning pay per shift into pay per week. At rank 1, Banking is the best career with nothing to unlock: ₦58,000 for a full week. At the top rank, these careers pay the most in a full week:
| Career | Pay per shift | Shifts a week | A full week | Needs first |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Real Estate Property Mogul | ₦88,000 | 6 | ₦528,000 | Charisma 3 |
| Broadcasting Station Manager | ₦84,000 | 6 | ₦504,000 | Comedy 3 |
| Music Afrobeats Giant | ₦99,000 | 5 | ₦495,000 | Nothing |
| Product Management Chief Product Officer | ₦92,000 | 5 | ₦460,000 | Coding 3 |
| Content Creator Celebrity Influencer | ₦90,000 | 5 | ₦450,000 | Nothing |
Two rules change what lands in your wallet. Win 4 mini-tasks in one shift to be Employee of the shift, which adds 15% to that shift’s pay. And income tax comes out of your pay automatically once the week’s income passes the free amount (see the tax section). A job alone never reaches that line, because even the biggest full week at rank 5 is ₦528,000.
What do the LAPO and Nepo starts give you?
The fourth step of making a Sim is the Birth lottery. You do not pick LAPO or Nepo: the game rolls one for you, and the screen says it is decided once for your account, so starting a new life will not change it. We could not find the odds. The table lists what each result gives you.
| What you get | LAPO start | Nepo start |
|---|---|---|
| Cash on day one | ₦76,000 in Mushin, ₦96,000 in Yaba Home cash plus the ₦60,000 loan | ₦500,000 pocket money |
| Debt | ₦72,000 to repay ₦12,000 a week for 6 weeks | None |
| Home | Start in Mushin / Yaba | Furnished Lekki flat Daddy pays the rent |
| Job on day one | You pick one | Branch Manager in Banking ₦31,500 a shift, ₦157,500 for a full week |
| Car | Not included | Yes, you only buy fuel |
| Skills | Hustle starts at 2 Every skill rises 25% faster | Charisma starts at 2 No learning bonus listed |
Nepo is the easy result. You begin with ₦500,000, no debt, and a job that is already at rank 3 of Banking: Branch Manager, ₦31,500 a shift, which is ₦157,500 for a full week. An in-game notice says Daddy has paid your rent for the year, so rent is the one bill you do not plan for at first.
LAPO is the slow climb. A LAPO player then picks Mushin or Yaba as a first home, because the Lekki flat is locked, and holds at most ₦96,000 on day one (the richer of the two homes plus the loan). The loan has to be paid back: ₦72,000 at ₦12,000 a week for 6 weeks, so it costs ₦12,000 more than it gives. There is no job waiting, so you pick one. What you get in return is learning speed: skills rise 25% faster, and Hustle starts at 2.
Here is what the LAPO start looks like in Mushin on Banking rank 1. Fixed weekly bills are the rent plus the loan repayment: ₦2,400 + ₦12,000 = ₦14,400. A full week of shifts pays ₦58,000, which leaves ₦43,600 before food, fares and tax. Rents for every home are in the homes and rent guide, and the transport fares show what getting to work costs.
Is a business worth buying in Lagos Life?
The game sells 8 businesses, from a phone-charging kiosk to a share in a Victoria Island club. You pay the price once. After that, each business settles once a day, from 18:00 Lagos time: the game draws a profit between the two ends of its income range, takes off the running costs, and sometimes the day simply goes wrong. If you are away, the game catches up on the days you missed when you come back.
| Business | Price | Income per day | Running costs per day | Bad day | Payback (our estimate) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Recharge & Data Kiosk Ojuelegba | ₦150,000 | ₦2,500–₦5,000 | ₦1,800 | 10% chance, costs ₦2,000 | 97 days ₦1,555 average profit per day |
| Zobo & Chapman Stand Yaba | ₦300,000 | ₦5,000–₦9,000 | ₦3,200 | 10% chance, costs ₦3,500 | 98 days ₦3,070 average profit per day |
| POS Stand Yaba | ₦500,000 | ₦5,000–₦11,500 | ₦2,000 | 10% chance, costs ₦4,500 | 97 days ₦5,175 average profit per day |
| Buka (Mama Put) Surulere | ₦2,500,000 | ₦30,000–₦61,000 | ₦18,000 | 10% chance, costs ₦19,500 | 110 days ₦22,800 average profit per day |
| Barbing Salon Ikeja | ₦6,000,000 | ₦66,000–₦133,000 | ₦40,000 | 8% chance, costs ₦42,500 | 117 days ₦51,340 average profit per day |
| Car Wash Lekki | ₦15,000,000 | ₦167,000–₦309,000 | ₦105,000 | 8% chance, costs ₦95,000 | 131 days ₦114,760 average profit per day |
| Event Centre Ikoyi | ₦60,000,000 | ₦585,000–₦1,171,000 | ₦430,000 | 10% chance, costs ₦320,000 | 162 days ₦371,200 average profit per day |
| Quilox Share (5%) Victoria Island | ₦250,000,000 | ₦1,795,000–₦3,585,000 | ₦1,150,000 | 8% chance, costs ₦1,100,000 | 189 days ₦1,328,800 average profit per day |
How to read the table:
- Price is a one-off cost.
- Income a day is a range. Each day pays a random amount between the two ends, and the running costs come off that.
- Bad day is the chance that a day goes wrong and costs a fixed amount instead of paying.
- Payback is our estimate, not a number from the game: the price divided by the average daily profit once bad days are counted in. It ignores tax and the time you spend saving up.

Bigger is not faster. The cheapest, Recharge & Data Kiosk, pays back in about 97 days, and the biggest, Quilox Share (5%), in about 189. The game runs on the real Lagos clock, so a day here is a real day.
Saving for the first one is the hard part. A LAPO starter holds at most ₦96,000 on day one, and the cheapest business costs ₦150,000. Using the Mushin example above, the leftover of ₦43,600 a week would cover it in about 4 weeks, if you spent nothing else. Business profit is taxed like pay and counts toward the same weekly total.
Is land worth buying in Lagos Life?
Land pays nothing day to day. Its value grows every week, compounding, and you cash in by selling: the agent keeps 5% of the value. We have not found any income from land in the game, so treat it as a long-term bet that the value keeps climbing.
| Plot | Price | Growth per week | With the ×1.25 boost | Doubles in | Omo-onile |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Imota, Ikorodu Quarter plot | ₦250,000 | 2% | 2.5% | about 29 weeks | 40% chance |
| Ikorodu Half plot | ₦1,500,000 | 2% | 2.5% | about 29 weeks | 35% chance |
| Epe Full plot | ₦2,500,000 | 3% | 3.75% | about 19 weeks | 30% chance |
| Ibeju-Lekki Full plot | ₦4,000,000 | 4% | 5% | about 15 weeks | 20% chance |
| Lekki Phase 2 Full plot, C of O | ₦15,000,000 | 2.5% | 3.13% | about 23 weeks | 5% chance |
| Banana Island Waterfront plot | ₦150,000,000 | 1.5% | 1.88% | about 38 weeks | - |

Since October 4, 2026, the live game applies a ×1.25 boost to every plot’s weekly growth. The table shows both rates, and the doubling time uses the boosted one (our arithmetic, not a game number). Ibeju-Lekki grows fastest at 5% a week and costs ₦4,000,000. Banana Island is the slowest at 1.88% a week and costs ₦150,000,000, but it is the only plot where nobody turns up to ask for money.
When you buy, an omo-onile can show up asking for “foundation money”. The last column is the chance of that happening. If he does, you pay 10% of the plot’s price to keep the peace.
How does tax work in Lagos Life?
Tax is charged on a week’s income, and the week resets every Monday. It comes out of your shift pay and your business profit automatically. The in-game tax note says bets, sales and gifts are not taxed.
| Weekly income | Tax rate on that slice |
|---|---|
| Up to ₦1,000,000 | 0% |
| ₦1,000,000 to ₦10,000,000 Basic | 20% |
| ₦10,000,000 to ₦50,000,000 Higher | 40% |
| Above ₦50,000,000 Top | 45% |

Each rate applies only to the slice of income inside its band. A week with ₦2,000,000 of income pays ₦200,000 in tax, and a week with ₦12,000,000 pays ₦2,600,000. A job alone stays under the free amount, so businesses are what push a week into the tax bands.

Nothing on the first ₦1,000,000 you earn in a week. Then 20% up to ₦10,000,000, 40% up to ₦50,000,000 and 45% above that, charged only on the slice inside each band. Tax comes out of pay automatically and the week resets on Monday.
